Have a great New Year!

Happy New Year to one and all - here's to a great 2008! To celebrate:
And, though belatedly, I'd like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas. I meant to do so on the day itself but I'm embarrassed to say it slipped my mind!

Eagles in the Country Music Hall of Fame???

Should the Eagles be inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame? This has been the "talk on the street" around Nashville. Vince Gill was recently quoted as saying the Eagles have influenced more people than Ernest Tubb, and therefore should join him in Country Music's Hall of Fame. This is proving to be somewhat controversial among some of the more traditional country music artists and fans. You can read more about this in articles that were published by the Nashville newspaper, The Tennessean. There are two articles - click here and here to read them. You may want to scroll down the pages and read the comments as well.

Updates?

Sorry for the lack of updates, folks - when Christmastime rolls around, I have to put the Eagles fandom aside for a bit to spend time with the family. However, there's lots of updates on the official site, where you'll find information about "How Long" being one of GAC's Top 50 videos, a new interview with Don Henley, and an upcoming Eagles feature on a VH1 Classic show called "Classic 60 minutes" in March.

Eagles Rumoured to Play Ireland in 2008

This is from the Belfast Telegraph:

"Said a source: 'I know for definite that the promoters are trying to line The Eagles up for one concert or more next year. It is likely to be Dublin, but you can't rule Belfast out, either.'"

Interviews added to download page

I'm about to take off to visit the fam for Christmas, but before I go, I put up a couple interviews. Kate from DFO sent me the Capitol Gold interview. Also, I've added an interview done 15 years ago where Frey, Henley, and Schmit discuss the making of Hotel California on "In the Studio with Redbeard." You can find both on the Fun Audio Downloads Page.

Don Henley on Kix!

According to the official site, you can hear Henley doing a full interview with Kix here. Give it a listen - it's great!

Eagles Hit #1 on Billboard Country Charts

According to Billboard, Long Road Out of Eden is #1 on the country charts, overtaking Garth Brooks's Ultimate Hits. Basically, the best material Brooks has put out over the entirety of his career has been beaten by the Eagles' new work. I almost feel bad for him, having to go against these guys on the country charts. Anyway...

Woot!
